"After 2008, rather than punishing banks or imposing radical reforms, most governments worked to save them. Banks were bailed out and debts were written off or purchased by the state. Under the 'Troubled Asset Relief Program' of 2010, the US government authorized $700 billion to stabilize banks. In Britain, over $500 million was spent purchasing shares in banks to prop them. Even the oldest surviving bank in the world, Italy's Banca Monte dei Paschi  di Siena (founded in 1472), built up huge losses investing in risky financial products. As a result, the Italian government had to spend more than 4 billion EURO rescuing the bank in 2016."

Soto Zen and Enlightenment

Some thoughts on C.G. Jung's 'Aion'

 'Aion' is a book about kids as well as for kids of all ages. The subtitle,''Researches Into the Phenomenology of the Self'' addresses age-old questions on the human presence. As such, the phenomenon of little men is implicitly viewed as a humorous affair, as expressed in the dictum 'THE SELF IS BIG BUT THE PHENOMENON OF THE SELF IS SMALL'. And like Man and Child, like the Self, we all make an appearance, eventually fading away into mirth.

ΜΑΡΠΑ, Ο ΜΕΤΑΦΡΑΣΤΗΣ

 Ο Μάρπα, που εξαιτίας της πολυμάθειάς του και των έξοχων μεταφράσεών του έφθασε να ονομάζεται Μεταφραστής, λέγεται ότι μαθήτευσε κοντά σε αρκετούς διάσημους γκουρού.

  Ένα μέρος της ζωής του είναι σύγχρονο με την ζωή του Ατίσα, που υπήρξε και ένας από τους δασκάλους του, αλλά το κύριο έργο του, το έκανε λίγα χρόνια μετά από την ίδρυση της σχολής του Ατίσα. The etheric body responding

Ponder for a while on these types of energy and creatively imagine their effect when, in due course of time and spiritual unfoldment, they can pour unrestrictedly into and through the etheric body of a human being. At present, the etheric body is responsive to energies from:

1. The physical world. These are not principles but are the feeders and controllers of the animal appetites.

2. The astral world, determining the desires, emotions and aspirations which the man will express and go after upon the physical plane.

3. The lower mental plane, the lower mind, developing self-will, selfishness, separateness and the direction and trend of the life upon the physical plane. It is this directive instinct which, when turned to higher matters, eventually opens the door to the higher cosmic etheric energies.

4. The soul, the principle of individualism, the reflection in the microcosm of the divine intention and—speaking symbolically—being to the entire monadic expression that which "stands at the midway point," the instrument of true sensitivity, of responsive ability, the spiritual counterpart of the solar plexus centre which is found at the midway point between that which lies above the diaphragm and that which is found below it.

Early Buddhism

Κάποτε στη διάρκεια μιας συνέλευσης, ένας δάσκαλος ονόματι Γιον Μεν είπε στους συγκεντρωμένους:

''Οι οπαδοί της διδασκαλίας του Βούδα είναι αναρίθμητοι σαν τους κόκκους άμμου του ποταμού Γάγγη.

Ποιός από σας μπορεί να πει με μια μονοσύλλαβη λέξη που βρίσκεται η Βουδότητα;"

Κανένας δεν μπορούσε να βρει μια απάντηση. Εκείνη τη στιγμή ο δάσκαλος απάντησε ο ίδιος: "Είναι παντού''.
