As a rule a mandala (dkyji 'khor) is a strongly symmetrical diagram concentrated about a center; it is built up of concentric circles ('khor) and, in most cases, squares possessing the same center (dkyji).
In one text the center is said to correspond to nirvana and the circle to the world.
