The ''linear'' model and the accusations

Closely related to the previous criticism was the charge that I denied any sort of spirituality to both children and early humans.

This, too, is an unfortunate misrepresentation of my work, based exactly on the notion that my model is merely linear. A few critics went apoplectic at my ''linear'' model and accused me of things slightly worse than well-poisoning...
